SWMU 54- Building 1914 Former NEX Repair/Maintenance Shop

Building 1914 is a former Navy Exchange (NEX) facility that was built in 1979.  It lies on approximately 1 acre of land in the Bundy Area of NSRR.  This site was occupied by NEX for limited vehicle maintenance.  The building structure and pavement covers approximately 40 percent of the total SWMU acreage.  The building itself is a small, concrete-block structure with a center office area and open bays on either side.  The building was used for maintenance on vehicles including oil changes and lubrication.  No wastes are known to have been disposed at this SWMU.  Oil and grease stains were observed at this site during a recent site visit by CH2MHill and the environmental staff at NSRR.  SWMU 54 is located across Bairiko Street from SWMU 26 and Building 1686, the Base former Laundromat.
